Even if you don’t have your remote, there are plenty of other devices and methods that can be used to turn on your Hisense TV. These include using CEC, resetting the TV, or using a universal remote. We’ll show you how.
How do I turn on my Hisense TV without the remote?
If your Hisense TV is not responding to the remote, you can still turn on the TV manually.
- On the front of your Hisense TV, find the power button and press it once to activate your device. If you are in a room that has no lights or any other sources of light, pressing this button will turn on a green light on the front of your television screen so that you can see what’s happening in there.
- If you do have any other sources of light in this room (such as lamps), they might also activate when pressing this button!
- Now try using your remote again to navigate through menus or change channels—if nothing happens when using it after turning off your TV manually by pressing its own power button, then something may be wrong with either yourself or with some part of how these devices interact with each other!
Find the hidden button.
If you can’t find the remote, look for a button on the back or bottom of the TV. Sometimes, this button will be labeled “Reset” and sometimes it won’t. If your TV doesn’t have a Reset button, try looking for another button that looks like a power button but isn’t labeled as such. If you’re unsure about where to look on your particular model, consult its user manual for help finding it.
Use a universal remote.
If you have a universal remote, you can use it to turn on your Hisense TV.
- To set up the universal remote, press and hold the Power button until it blinks.
- Press 1 or 2 on the remote to select “Enter code.” Make sure you write down the codes that work with your TV.
- Press Enter or OK to enter one of these codes into your Hisense smart TV. If this doesn’t work, repeat steps 2-3 with other codes until one works (or until all of them fail).
Reset your TV.
Step 1: Turn off the TV.
Turn off your TV using the remote or power button on the side of the screen. Unplug any cords connected to your screen and wait for 30 seconds before continuing to step 2 below.
Step 2: Reconnect your power cord.
Reconnect the power cord and turn on your TV by pressing its power button or remote control, if applicable; some models don’t have an actual physical button but instead rely on a corresponding app to be opened for this action to occur (see below).
Set up CEC.
- Connect your Hisense TV to your home network.
- Turn on your TV.
- Press and hold the power button on your TV for 5 seconds. The TV will turn off, and then turn back on after a moment to ask you to connect to your home network. Select your network and enter any required passwords or PINs (if required). The CEC function will not be available until this is complete, or if you disconnect from the network before setting up CEC functionality.
